On a partial cover box, the cover
section extends at least two-thirds of the depth of the bottom section.
Because it has a double thickness of corrugated board over the major
portion of the side and end panels, this container had great resistance
to bulging and buckling when subjected to overhead weight.
When authorized by carrier regulations,
this box is also used for products which settle during shipment.
These products are sometimes deliberately over-packed by the producer,
and the box with the partial cover is used because it provides the
flexibility needed for the operation.
